We’re so glad you are interested in becoming a volunteer. You will find that joining and volunteering are both easy.
What We Do
As an all-volunteer organization, we are committed to ensuring that the work we do is meaningful. Our volunteers make a difference in the lives of our members by providing transportation, handyman services – including installing air conditioners, hanging pictures, moving deck furniture and the like, friendly visits, and computer help.
As volunteers, we are helping our neighbors, seniors in our communities, to remain at home. At the same time, we are creating connections and friendships with the people we help.
Many of our volunteers look eagerly for their friends on the easy online self-sign up. Our members, who come from all walks of life, are anxious to share their stories and are extremely grateful, both for the assistance they receive, and the time they are able to spend with engaging and interested volunteers.
How it Works
As a Growing Older Together volunteer, your schedule is in your hands.
Our Volunteer Self Sign-Up enables you to peruse the open requests and choose the ones that fit best with your schedule. There is no expectation that you will volunteer at a particular time or interval. However, in order to ensure that all member requests are filled, we ask that you commit to provide a minimum of six services per year.
Becoming a Volunteer
To join us in our effort to help seniors stay in their homes and be active in our communities, please use the button below to provide your contact information. You will receive an email response within a few days from our volunteer intake coordinator, outlining the next steps:
- A phone interview with the volunteer intake coordinator
- A training session where you will learn more about our organization and the tools we use
- Lastly you will be asked to agree to a mandatory background check conducted by a third party organization called Intellicorp
Once these steps and the paperwork are complete, you will be all set to volunteer and meet some of the wonderful seniors in our towns.
